Types of conditions I helped in 2015

The different types of problems hypnotherapy can help

Review of the year

When I was putting this graph together I was surprised at the regularity some problems cropped up. Toilet phobia was one of the problems that was forefront in my mind to being a rather odd anxiety, but as you can see it’s not uncommon. It’s to do with being over sensitive about using a toilet in public. not just public toilets (you can’t blame people for not wanting to go into some of them) but toilets at work, or in a bar or supermarket. It’s not just confined to women, men also get a bit shy too, especially with those open air public urinals you find in large cities such as Bristol and London.

Exam stress was up this year compared to 2014, as were the number of students with anxiety, confidence and imposter syndrome (which I have lumped together).

Work stress was up quite a bit in 2015, and problems with HR departments and possible law suits had increased employees and professors stress levels. Stop smoking sessions were about the same as 2014, and insomnia was up by 50%. My most enjoyable problem was needle phobia. Having had this problem my self over the years I know exactly what it was like, the teens that came to see me about conquering this phobia did so because of vaccinations and health problems, but they were able to learn how to stop that pattern of panic by using fun images.

There were two cases of bereavement (in fact there were 3 because one of the depression clients had a tragic death in her family during the time she was seeing me) and solution focused hypnotherapy proved a very effective way of dealing with a suicide and death of a baby.
