We eat with our eyes

The size food appears determines how full we feel
The size food appears determines how full we feel

Research carried out in Japan has shown that we eat with our eyes. They took a selection of volunteers and hooked them up to a virtual reality consol and gave them biscuits to eat. In the first experiment the volunteers ate an average of 8 biscuits before they felt full. The next day they did the same again and the volunteers ate only 5. The size of the biscuit was no different, but what the volunteer saw was. In the first experiment the biscuit appeared smaller than it actually was, in the second it appeared larger. This showed that part of our hungry/full up sensations are psychological.

In my weight loss programme, we use a similar technique. If you’re considering help with losing that Christmas gained weight after New Year, best book your Initial consultation now, as January gets very busy.

If you find that you gain weight after you’ve been on a diet, or over eat when you feel upset, or you can’t stop eating junk food or sweets, the hypnotherapy is a very effective way of gaining back that control.

Hypnotherapy for weight loss works best when it’s not pretending to be something else, it’s all about having control, control over your emotions, control over your thoughts and behaviours.

Our weight loss programme covers how the gut / brain connection effects your thinking and ability to make the right choices. It works out the best way for you to lose weight – not what works for someone else. It’s about changing the way you think about food and how you plan your meals.
