Stress management - be on that beach every day

Stress Management for individuals

Our Stress Management for Individuals package consists of monthly sessions online. It allows individuals to discuss their thoughts and feelings with a third-party non-judgemental qualified therapist. Sessions are an hour long and can include psychoeducation, tool teaching, coaching, solution-focused coaching and visualisation. Those who enjoy deep hypnosis can also enjoy copies of the trancework in the form of MP3s between sessions.

Online sessions are £80 and available:

Wednesday 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm & 6pm
Friday 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm & 6pm

Who utilizes these sessions?

Sessions are open to all. Many of my clients are professional people with stressful jobs, who may find it difficult to find time to travel to a therapist. The beauty of solution-focused therapy is that you don’t divulge anything. All sessions are confidential, so it’s ideal for those in important positions such as military, police and the medical profession. Many are retirees, who find it helps them cope better with health issues.

Stress Management for Employees

Stress management is all about building resilience to stress so that when it happens we can cope much better. In these difficult financial times, job security is one of the biggest issues. Consequently when redundancies are made, often it’s the employees left behind who are the ones left to cope with the extra work. As a result, some may feel guilty that they still have employment.

There are certain steps you can take to make sure you can cope better.

  • Find an engaging pastime or hobby you enjoy and you find fulfilling.
  • Exercise – that promotes more dopamine and makes you feel better.
  • Don’t feel that you have to bottle it up, sometimes a good cry and offloading our burdens help us feel better even if it’s short-term.
  • Ask the management team if they have any suggestions for reorganising things so you don’t feel so overwhelmed.
  • Create a group at work where you can find solutions to the problems you’re all having and get the managers on board.
  • Practice relaxation and mindful techniques.

Stress Management Case Study

Clevedon Hall Call Center 2007 – 2010

Originally, I was brought in by the HR department to help employees with their stress levels. I worked with them to stop smoking and improve sleep and concentration. Some made use of hypnotherapy to gain better control over habits and eating. The HR manager was very encouraging with the improvement in the performance and overall happiness of the staff.

Employers Guide to Stress Management

Not all companies are large enough for HR or occupational health specialists. As a small to medium-sized business, you need to make sure all your employees are working to their best ability. When stressed by a high workload or employees have constraints. It can make them feel they are not a valued member of staff and consequently, they feel stressed. That leads to demotivation, and what is known as presenteeism

There are certain steps you can take to make sure your staff are working at their peak.

  • Make sure the employees know what changes need to be made and that they understand the reasons behind those changes.
  • Let the employees feel that they are listened to – employers who believe that their staff are to do what they are told are doomed to failure.
  • Ensure the employees are taking their breaks, being healthy and enjoying what they are doing.
  • Employees are more motivated if they feel they are part of something and have choices in what they do. Flexibility helps them to manage their work/life balance. People with poor work/life balances end up stressed and making poor decisions at work and home. The results often lead to absenteeism.

What we can provide as a Stress Management Package

I can help companies put together a stress management package. A half-day seminar where you will learn about the effects of stress on performance. Learn about the wide variety of changes the company and individuals can implement to help stress management.

We look at your company’s physical environment. Your environment can have profound effects on the way people work and interact. I look at how the space in your building works and can give advice and pointers as to whether it’s contributing towards stress and how to remedy it if it is.
